From an early age Carole always had a sketch book nearby and would frequently absorb herself in her drawing. She excelled in art at school and was strongly encouraged by both her teacher and father to take this further by going to art school.
Carole studied art and design at Cleveland College of Art from 1977 to 1979 where she was tutored by the late Tom Wall. Amongst her fellow students during this time was the now world famous artist Mackenzie Thorpe. From 1979 to 1981 Carole specialised in graphic design and on completing art school worked as a graphic artist.
Carole's father had always hoped that she would find the confidence to promote her work to sell, but she never did in his lifetime. Following the demise of her father, Carole adopted a new and fresh determination to grant his wish. Using the medium of soft pastel, she actively began creating a portfolio of work.
Through most of her titled work, Carole hopes to stir positive emotions and evoke feelings of calm and well being in an often stressful world.
